Fall Hiking Trip

We took Franklin on a really wonderful and relaxing walk last Saturday! He really needed a nice, loooooooong walk… and Mitch, Mary, and I took the opportunity to be out in this lovely fall weather!

Franklin was loving the water [a first]!

It was great to be out in nature instead of stuck inside the apartment reading [although, Lord knows, I love that, too]! I love when we get in some “family time” with our baby boy Franklin!

Outfit Post

This is my model pose, guys… whaddya think?! ;] haha.

Last Friday I got all gussied up to go on a date night with my lovah. I love this outfit a TON. A metric ton of love for this outfit.

Aaaand, this is what a curvy gal looks like in skinny jeans and flats. You know what? I don’t care… I love flats and skinny jeans, even though they make me look a little bottom heavy!

Jeans: American Eagle
Checkered button up: Target [way back when]
Blue Top Shirt: Ruche
Flats: Charlotte Russe (similar to these)
Pearls: My grandmother <3
Socks: My momma

And I also had a little visitor! =)

DIY: Tote Bag

I made my very own tote bag for this weekend’s trip to DC and I’ve got to say… it was much easier than I thought it would be! I think I might start making these more often. Christmas gifts, anyone? ;]

Supplies:
1 yd of fabric [I did two 1/2 yards of diff fabric]
thread
sewing machine [10x easier]

First, I cut two pieces of each fabric into the size I wanted my tote sides to be!
I used a magazine for reference, as I wanted to fit my road trip essentials in this bag! I also decided the kitties would be the inside fabric, so I put them on the inside, with the back of both fabric designs touching.

Next, I cut out the pieces for the bottom and sides. I used more fabric for the bottom, so it would be a bit sturdier. =]

And last but not least, I folded up some fabric to use as tote handles.

Then I stopped taking photos and sewed everything around their edges, back to back, before proceeding to sew together the back section. I sewed it inside out, so any mistakes or raw edges would end up inside the bag.

Finally, I sewed down a small flap at the top, so the top looked coiffed. haha. Love that word. Coiffed. Anywho, then I sewed the handles to the inside of the bag. And voila!

Beautiful, beautiful tote bag that I am now massively in love with. <3 <3 <3
Seriously so proud of this one, guys!!

And then I got some kitten cuddles. Peach was definitely impressed with my work! =] I love hearing her praises.

Times they are a’changin’

I’m sure you have all noticed some pretty drastic changes around here. With the help and inspiration of some of my fellow bloggers and friends, I have decided to really put my all into this little blog. Not that I wasn’t before… but I kept putting things off, not putting in the actual man-hours needed to turn this into something great. Well I’m here to tell you, folks, that I am here and in it for the long haul! You’re going to see some changes around here… all good, I promise!! =] I can’t wait to start some of these new post ideas with the help of my trusty sidekicks: Mitchel, Franklin, Bellatrix, Callisto, and Princess Peach. Oh, my, my…

If you didn’t think it beforehand, now you are 100% sure that I’m a silly ole cat lady, huh? ; ] Also, Franklin has cherry eye… and they can’t operate until he’s 6 months old. Thus why his tear duct is poking out and red. =\ Ewwie.
