31 Days of Book Reviews

Frankenweenie is ready for ChristmasOkay, guys, I’m going to go a little crazy this December! I’m going to be having a FULL MONTH… 31 days of book reviews. I’m going to review 31 books that I’ve read this year over the entire month of December. I love the Christmas season, I love buying special gifts for the people who make my life so special. =) SO for all of my lovely blog readers, new and old, I thought I’d post a crap ton of books for you all to check out [or skip] over your Christmas time off and winter breaks. So bring your hot tea or cocoa, your favorite blanket, and be sure to bring a snuggle buddy [read: fur baby] to catch up on 31 days of novels!!

If book reviews aren’t your thang, I’ll still be posting my normal articles AND we’ll start our third year of the 12 Days of Christmas Crafting!!! Be sure to check in over the next 31 days between shopping and watching Elf on replay!

Happy Halloween

scarecrow halloweenieHalloweenie is one of my absolute FAVORITE holidays. Mostly because the theatre kid in me loves coming up with creative costumes and dressing up! I went to Zoo Boo at the Indy zoo this past weekend dressed up as a scarecrow and I have a Tardis costume in the works for Friday! Hope you all have safe and treat-filled Halloweens!

Happy Easter

bunny buttHAPPY EASTER!!! Bunny bums are one of my favorite Easter things, but not my absolute favorite! Remember why we celebrate today; He is Risen. I am grateful for Christ’s love and unwavering bravery and kindness. Without Christ, I am nothing. <3 Whether you believe in God & Christ, or not, I hope you enjoy this serene and beautiful Spring day! For me, it’ll be one filled with love and smiles.

Merry Christmas

merry ChristmasMerry Christmas, blog readers!! I hope you are all spending some time with your loved ones this holiday season. Remember that it’s not about the gifts, it’s about appreciating one another and watching lots of really cheesy clay animation films. =) Mele Kalikimaka and may you all have an incredible day!!!

Engaged!!

Nutcracker happy happy engaged! So, blog family, I don’t know how else to break the news to everyone, but Mitch & I are engaged [since 12/7/13]!! We’re going to get married and have kids and live happily ever after.

Okay, let’s be honest, I’ll probably drive him absolutely bonkers, BUT he’s stuck with me!

We haven’t set a date, though we’re thinking September 2014! It was a romantic night at the ballet watching The Nutcracker and then home for hot tea and Bible reading. After which, he asked me to marry him. AND I SAID YES!?!

We have been together since September of 2011 and I’ve never been happier in my life. Mitch is my best friend, my confidante, and my support system. I can’t wait to begin our life together as old married folks!

Thankful

sunsetToday, as with every day, I am incredibly thankful to be alive and well. I’m thankful for all of the love in my life, there are a lot of people out there who don’t have a life filled with love the way I do. I strive not to take it for granted. I’m thankful for my loving pets and that I make enough money to support and care for them. I’m thankful for my family and friends, for Mitchel and our healthy & happy home. I’m thankful for working a job that I love, and that I’m good at, that provides for me. I’m especially thankful for Christ and the sacrifice he made for us all. I’m thankful for God’s mercy and His grace.

And lastly, I’m thankful for all of you. ¬†Everyone who takes the time to read even one measly sentence on this blog of mine. I’m very lucky to live in an age where getting your writing out there to be read is easy to do. I write because somebody out there reads it and you all make me feel blessed, like I matter, and I want you all to know that you matter to me, too! Have a fantastic Thanksgiving and I hope your bellies are full and your cheeks are sore from smiling. =)
