DIY: Crochet Bow

I made this cutesie crochet bow based on the instructions
I found here at CrochetSpot!The pattern is below:
Row 1: ch 12, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across: 11 sc
Rows 2-4: ch 1, turn, working in back loops only, sc in each sc across: 11 sc
Border: do not turn, sc in along side of each row, in each ch across bottom, and along other side of each row.
Finish off.

It wasn’t too awfully hard to do… and I’d really do it again in a heartbeat! Super cute and lots of uses… blankets, headbands, bobby pins! I love it!

Awkward & Awesome Thursday

Awkward:
-How long it’s been since we’ve washed our bedsheets! Icky! We’ve gotta make a big run to the laundromat this week!
-Franklin being exceptionally smelly the other day! Boston terrier farts are the worst.

Awesome:
-Sleeping owls. Aren’t they adorbs?!
-Watching The Walking Dead season 2 on Netflix! It’s sickeningly well-written and acted!
-Crocheting! My bobble blanket is coming along soooo nicely. I’m actually quite proud of it!
-Finishing ‘Life of Pi’ the novel with Mitchel! We read aloud to each other every night… it’s super romantic! And now we start on the Harry Potter series, since he’s never read it before!!

DIY: Bobble Blanket Update

My bobble blanket is really coming along! I know it doesn’t look like much, but it takes a long time to get a row done! Who knew that bobbles would take so much more effort and time than if I had chosen to do a different kind of blanket. Ah well, it will all be worth it in the end when I have a rockin’ blankie! For now, enjoy my rainbow-ish bobble progress!

DIY: Crochet Scarf

I know I talked about it briefly a bit ago, but I wanted to show off the scarf I crocheted!! I taught myself to crochet using a silly newbies crochet book from Michael’s and this was the first project! I definitely could improve, but it is so cute and pink in person! Super proud of my first finished crochet project!

DIY: Bobble Blankie

After seeing Rachele of The Nearsighted Owl post photos of her Bobble stitch blanket on Instagram, I decided to take up crocheting and try my hand at it!! I have made 2 full designs with lots and lots of messy and incorrect bobbles, before Rachele posted her pattern! Thank goodness for that… I realized that I was supposed to be double crocheting 5 stitches in the SAME stitch. Whoopsie! But I restarted and now I know what I was doing wrong! haha. Here’s where I am now on my third go around:
