DIY: Christmas Cookies

12 days of christmas craftingMitch helped me make some delicious butter cookies from the Martha Stewart recipe here! The recipe calls for:

  • 3 cups (spooned and leveled) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) cold unsalted butter, cut in pieces
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Decorating sugar and sprinkles, (optional)

Step One: Place flour, sugar, butter, and salt in the bowl of a food processor; process until mixture is the texture of coarse meal.

Step Two:  In a small bowl, lightly beat egg yolks and vanilla; with motor running, add to food processor. Process just until a dough forms.

Step Three: Chill overnight!

DIY: Rainbow Cupcakes

BAM!!! Look at that beautiful rainbow cupcake!!

Supplies include:
Paper Cups [I got the Brights]
Food Coloring
Two white boxed cake mixes
Strawberry frosting

First thing’s first, I mixed two boxed white cake mixes, separated it into 6 bowls and colored them utilizing the above mixtures of food coloring.

Then I lined my trays paper cups and poured the mixes in, one by one, in the order they are listed above. I made sure the ends of each color touched the edge of the cups.

After I baked the cupcakes according to the box directions, I iced them and put some sprinkles on them.
