25. Do a 365 days photo challenge.

I did it!!! Granted, it ended up being a 366 days photo challenge [leap year, my friends], but I still did it!! I took a photo every day for a year… and what a year 2012 has been! 30 Before 30: Have a Job I Love

Having a job I love is so important to me. I can’t imagine living a life, day in and day out, spending most of my time in a job that I absolutely abhor. Most of my post-college career has been like that. In and out of jobs I disliked and hated, jobs where I was being mistreated or under-appreciated. My potential was not being utilized to it’s full ability and it made me complacent. I felt like I was going nowhere, I constantly felt the urge to turn around and run away from the careers that were suffocating me.

Until this job.

I have been technical writing for military systems, writing Operator’s Manuals, proofing, copy-editing, and overall just doing the supposed “grunt-work” of writing. AND IT HAS BEEN INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!

Not only do I love copy-editing and proofing, crossing our T’s and dotting our I’s, but I’m actually writing for my career. I’m being fully utilized and appreciated. My supervisors have let me know how invaluable I have become and how quickly I’ve caught on. I’m trusted and my thoughts on how the manuals are constructed are considered. Nobody undermines me and makes me feel like my job is lesser than theirs. I’m just as integral a part of the team as anyone else and I do not go unnoticed.

I really cannot say enough about loving my job. It’s really shed a new light on what life can be like when you feel respected at work as much as I am at home. I’m smitten with the job and I doubt I could ever go back to being misused in the workplace.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that words cannot express how blessed I feel to be 26 yrs old and to love my job.

DIY: Tie Dye Hair Pt 2

So this time I left the colors in for a bit longer and GLOBBED on the colors. The purple came out more purple and less dark blue and the turquoise is actually turquoise instead of light blue. I’m officially in love [and also a little bit of a my-little-pony] with this hair-do!

12. Dye my hair a fun color [even if it's just the tips].

I did it, guys! I tie dyed my hair!!!!! Aren’t you proud of me? I’ve always wanted to do something crazy and fun like this!! I got the okay from my boss and with Pitchfork [concert festival] this weekend, I had to change things up a bit!! =) I’m a wild child and I’m definitely loving this look. It’s laid back and not overly abrasive, LOVE.

29. Hold a newborn babe.

Well, guess what?! I held my friends’ 5 day old baby boy Greyson Kelly! He is so absolutely perfect! I loved feeling his whole body stretches and supporting his teeny back with my arm! He also smelled like HEAVEN! Baby smell is so appealing! He napped in my arms for a bit! We really shared some Auntie Sarah baby Greyson time together. It was just what I needed! Mitch said it’s the happiest he’s ever seen me! =)

I completed another one of my 30 before 30 goals!!!

24. Get another tattoo!

Ignore my eyes in this photo. lol.

Colin McClain from Skinquake in Bloomington, IN did this tattoo and I am SO HAPPY with his work! He’s doing all my future tattoos, I’ve decided!

SO READY to start this beast!! =)

I should mention that watching someone get tatted up for 3 hours is not as exciting as it may seem. Poor Mitchel was such a trooper! My brother even lasted through half of the process, too!

Honestly, before I started getting tattoos, I never thought I’d be the type. I never considered putting something on my body permanently. It’s such an art form though. It’s turning my body into a work of art, and you might not want tattoos for yourself, but you’ve got to appreciate the beauty of it. It’s a realization, too… tattoos don’t change who I am. I’m still me… still positive and happy-go-lucky. Still a Christian!! This is just part of who I am. Part of what I love and enjoy out of life. This is me living my life to it’s fullest. =)

Thank God for my supportive family and Mitchel. They may not want tattoos themselves, or even agree with them, but they have been nothing but supportive of me and my happiness. I’m pretty blessed in that department! =)
